It’s 11:30 pm, but I’m posting Monday’s post now. I’m sure no one is going to get THAT confused. Today two exciting things happened. One good exciting, and one bad exciting.
The bad exciting: Tom bought a new faucet, and while he was installing it in the kitchen, the kitchen caught on fire. I thought I had turned the front burner off, but apparently not. Or it didn’t click totally off. At any rate, Tom piled a bunch of flammable stuff on the stove, paper towels, cardboard boxes, and paper, while he was working. And it caught on fire.
What made this especially scary was, the water was shut off so Tom could put in the new faucet. So I had a cow, and grabbed an old sweatshirt and beat the hell out of it, until it stopped. freaking scary dude. Tom said nothing major could have caught on fire, because there was nothing else that flammable around, and he was Mr. Calm, like he catches shit on fire all the time or something.
For some bizarre reason, he ACTUALLY thought I would just stand there and scream. He was surprised I beat the hell out of it. Well what else was I going to do?
So that was the bad excitement.
The good excitement is, that somehow, in spite of the bad excitement, I managed to get the promo site done for KEPT. whoo hoo.
One of my friends, Mary (WorldofHiglet), was one of the early Beta readers and in KEPT, Dayne buys his therian blood (for magic) from a website called Theriantype.com. And Mary said, “You know, it would be kind of cool if you would actually buy the domain and make a site called Theriantype.com. So I got a wiki for it, and bought the domain and did a domain forward on it, and ta da, we now have: TherianType.com
The ebook will hopefully be up by the end of the day (Monday.) I’m very close to having this little F*cker done.

Dude! Congratulations! I can’t wait to read it!
Sorry about the fire. Maybe fires will all gossip about what happened and be like, “Don’t start up at Zoe’s house. She’ll beat the hell out of you.” This could be a good thing.

hahaha.
It’s up, go read it now, dude! I worked ALL day, bitches.

At least go look at the pretty pictures. I’m way too enamored with my pretty pictures haha.

Love the site, Zoe! The “About” page is great fun!
Glad your house didn’t go up on fire.

The scary exciting was scary! I’m glad that it you managed to get it under control easily with your ninja-like firefighting capabilities.
And thanks for the shout-out. I loved ‘Kept’ and you have done a brilliant job with the Theriantype.com site! ‘BMM approved’ is great….and the pics really make it look very established.

Thanks, Edie!
Me too! (about the house.)

Wow, sorry about the kitchen fire. I hope there was no lasting damage.
I’m looking forward to the website and ebook!

Hey Bunnygirl, yay, thanks!
And no, there was no damage. I beat it like a crazy ninja.

This is awesome! I love the BMM approved page. Too funny!
It’s obvious much work and thought went into this, but it looks like you had fun too.

Yeah, it was a lot of fun. Though I totally cheated on the cross-referencing index by making a fake error server overload page. But seriously, dude, if you think I’m making a massively overwhelming magical cross-referencing index that nobody will read anyway, you are smoking the crack. The “Our Products” page probably was already too long and boring.

Well done!
The fire sounds scary. We had a lot of times when the water was off for construction type things & I always worried something like that would happen. There’s always the toilet…
November 24, 2008 at 12:12 pm
haha you know, I didn’t even THINK of the toilet. Der. I ended up opening some water bottles to put out the little stubborn bits that wouldn’t be beat out.
November 24, 2008 at 6:12 pm
LOL! You designed that quickly. Awesome idea, Zoe!

Hey Spy, well it wasn’t that hard because I used a wetpaint.com wiki. So a lot of the formatting was already there, and the layout is very very easy to deal with. Then I just wrote the content, got some photos from istockphoto and ta da. And the idea to do the site came from Mary (WorldofHiglet.) I just implemented it.
